Boffs Zölibatsbruch:

Leonardo Boff hatte 1993 in einem Zeitungsinterview mitgeteilt, daß er trotz Zölibatsverpflichtung seit 1981 als katholischer Priester mit der noch nicht geschiedenen Frau seines Freundes, Marcia Miranda,  zusammenlebte, die aus ihrer Ehe sechs Kinder hatte. Marcia Miranda war Boffs Sekretärin. Wie es in dem Interview hieß, lebte Boff mit Marcia Miranda und deren Ex-Mann über ein Jahrzehnt, bis 1991 in einem Haus von Petropolis bei Rio de Janeiro zusammen. 

Wikipedia:   Em 1992, ante novo risco de punição, desligou-se da Ordem Franciscana e pediu dispensa do sacerdócio. Sem que esta dispensa lhe fosse concedida, uniu-se, então, à educadora popular^[2] e militante dos direitos humanos Márcia Monteiro da Silva Miranda, divorciada e mãe de seis filhos, com quem mantinha uma relação amorosa em segredo desde 1981^[3]

Churches compete for customers, just as supermarkets do. The difference is that the latter offer cheaper products while the Churches promise to alleviate suffering and to provide spiritual peace, prosperity and salvation.

At the moment there is no confrontation in this competition. But there are explicit prejudices in relation to other religious traditions and particularly to those rooted in African culture such as candomblé, macumba and spiritism.[1] <#_ftn1>
