Brazil ranks 6th  in the world with regard to juvenile deaths. In this country they are killed by the police, by “stray” bullets, by the war between drug dealers and by motorbike and car accidents. This data comes from UNICEF. In absolute numbers, Brazil in 2012 had more than 11,000 homicides of persons between 0 and 19 years of age losing only to Nigeria, which had 13,000.

Here 17 young people out of every 100 are murdered. And 10% of young women under 19 have already been forced into having sex. Paedophilia generally occurs within the family group.

UNICEF researched 190 countries. El Salvador (27/100) Guatemala (22), Venezuela (20), Haiti (19) and Lesotho (18) beat Brazil in juvenile murders.
