Holston schreibt in seinem Standardwerk über Brasilia:”The worst food riot occurred on the Sunday night of carnaval in 1959. It became known as the Massacre of Pacheco Fernandes after the construction company in whoose canteen it occurred. The security forces responded by machine-gunning an unknown number of men(perhaps one, perhaps forty)who were hastily buried in an unmarked grave somewhere in the cerrado around Planaltina according to unofficial reports(Jornal do Brasil, 18.February 1968). Many workers felt aggrieved enough to attend meetings of the association of construction workers to condemn the action.”

Laut Holston gabe es kein “official inquest”.
